Sir Thomas
Deane Thomas became established professionally at age 21, on his completion of the Cork Commerical Rooms, (now the Imperial Hotel, South Mall) receiving a presentation of a Silver Plate for his work.
His further work includes the Cork City Gaol and Queen's College (now UCC). He was High Sheriff of Cork, President of the RHA & Institute of Architects in Ireland, and Knighted by Lord Northumberland in 1830. He died in Monkstown, Co. Dublin in 1871. The Deane's mansion was at Dundanion in Blackrock, Cork.
